These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of WhiteCoatRecall.com (the "Platform," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Entertainment and Educational Purpose Only
WhiteCoatRecall.com is an educational entertainment platform that presents medical history, human anatomy, medical terminology, and pre-medical science concepts in a game and quiz format, for knowledge and entertainment purposes only.
The Platform does not provide medical advice. Nothing on WhiteCoatRecall.com constitutes medical advice, medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations, prescription guidance, or any other form of professional medical or healthcare advice. By using the Platform, you agree and acknowledge that all content — including game questions, answers, physician profiles, and discovery pages — is provided for general educational and entertainment purposes only, and that you will not use any content on the Platform to make a health decision. Always consult a qualified, licensed healthcare professional for any medical decisions, health concerns, symptoms, diagnoses, or treatment options. In case of a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
WhiteCoatRecall.com is not affiliated with any medical institution, medical school, healthcare provider, or professional medical organization. Game content is sourced from publicly available historical, scientific, and educational materials and is reviewed for educational accuracy, not clinical use. See our full Medical Disclaimer for more detail.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You may use the Platform as a guest without creating an account. If you choose to create an account, you must provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. The Platform is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
3. User Conduct
When using WhiteCoatRecall.com, you agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use automated scripts, bots, or third-party software to submit scores, manipulate leaderboards, or otherwise gain an unfair advantage in any game or Daily Challenge;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform, other users' accounts, or any Supabase or Cloudflare infrastructure underlying the Platform;
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Platform's servers, networks, or score validation systems;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract the Platform's question database, physician profiles, or discovery content for republication elsewhere;
- Upload or transmit any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing content through any user-submitted field (such as a display name or challenge message);
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.
4. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its game mechanics, software, design, visual assets, curated question database, physician and discovery profiles, and the WhiteCoatRecall name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Underlying historical and scientific facts are not owned by anyone, but our specific selection, arrangement, phrasing, and presentation of that content is our property.
You may view, play, and share content from the Platform for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Platform's software, database, or original written content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by the sharing features built into the Platform (such as the daily score share mechanic).
5. Third-Party Services and Advertising
The Platform displays advertising served through Google AdSense and may include affiliate links to third-party educational and test-preparation services (such as MCAT preparation courses). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site or service linked from the Platform. Your interactions with those third parties are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate, and we do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any historical, scientific, or educational content presented, though we source content from NIH, Britannica, and other verified medical history and educational publications.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhiteCoatRecall.com and its owners, operators, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Platform. This includes, without limitation, any decisions made or actions taken in reliance on content presented on the Platform. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will not exceed $100.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WhiteCoatRecall.com and its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, with or without notice, at any time and for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time by contacting us as described below or, where available, through your account settings. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnification, arbitration, and governing law) will survive.
10. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
You and WhiteCoatRecall.com agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform will be resolved through binding, individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. There is no right or authority for any dispute to be brought, heard, or arbitrated as a class, collective, or representative action, and you and WhiteCoatRecall.com each waive any right to participate in a class action. Arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, and judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except to the extent preempted by the Federal Arbitration Act. Subject to the arbitration provision above, the state and federal courts located in North Carolina will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute not subject to arbitration.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
